Marketing for coaches and consultants: show the results, not the advice

Coaches and consultants sell trust, and trust comes from visible results. A marketing plan built on proof-heavy social media, scheduled consistently, with SEO and GEO underneath.

TL;DR

  • Clients hire coaches and consultants for results, so your marketing should show proof, not generic tips AI can write for free.
  • Post client results with real numbers, the story behind each win, testimonials in clients’ own words and behind-the-scenes looks at your work.
  • Pick one main platform (LinkedIn for B2B, Instagram or TikTok for life and fitness coaches) and post close to daily.
  • Batch a week of posts in one sitting and schedule them with SchedPilot so you stay consistent even on busy client weeks.
  • Turn every client win into a case study page for SEO and GEO, so Google and AI assistants recommend you too.

A business coach who posts “5 tips to scale your business” competes with roughly every other business coach alive. A business coach who posts a screenshot of a client’s revenue going from $8K to $31K a month, with a short story about the one change that did it, competes with nobody.

Same coach. Same expertise. Wildly different results.

That gap is the whole game in marketing for coaches and consultants. You don’t sell a product people can try on. You sell a promise that working with you will change something, and the only thing that makes a promise believable is evidence that you’ve kept it before. Your social media should be a running exhibition of that evidence.

Why generic advice doesn’t sell coaching

Free advice used to be a decent lead magnet. Then everyone started posting it, and now AI writes it on demand in four seconds. If your feed is full of tips a prospect could get by asking ChatGPT, you’ve made yourself replaceable by a free tool.

Tips also attract the wrong people. Someone who loves your free advice often wants exactly that: more free advice. The person who books a $3,000 engagement is asking a different question. Can this person get me a result like that?

Results answer that question. Tips don’t.

Build your social media around proof

Your presence on social needs to be strong, consistent and full of outcomes. Not occasionally. Every week. Here’s what proof actually looks like in a feed.

Client results with numbers

The strongest post a coach or consultant can make is a specific before-and-after. Revenue, hours saved, weight lost, promotions landed, deals closed, a team’s turnover rate cut in half. Use real numbers and real timeframes. “Helped a client grow their business” is invisible. “Took a two-person bookkeeping firm from 11 clients to 34 in five months by changing how they priced onboarding” is a post people save and send to friends.

Always get permission, and anonymize when you need to. “A SaaS founder in Berlin” works fine. The number is what does the convincing.

The story behind the result

A number on its own reads like bragging. A number with a story reads like a lesson. Tell people where the client started, what was stuck, what you changed together and what happened. Include the part that didn’t work at first. That honesty is persuasive, because real projects are messy and every prospect knows it.

The structure is almost always the same. Problem. Turning point. Result. One lesson the reader can use. Notice the lesson comes last and is small. You’re showing your thinking, which proves expertise far better than lecturing does.

Testimonials in the client’s own words

Screenshots of a client’s WhatsApp message saying “I just signed the biggest contract of my life” beat any polished testimonial graphic. Short video clips of clients describing what changed are even better. Ask for them at the moment of the win, while the excitement is real. Two weeks later, people get polite and vague.

Your own results, too

If you coach people on LinkedIn growth, your LinkedIn had better be growing. If you consult on sales, share your own pipeline numbers. Practicing what you preach in public is proof in itself. It also gives you endless material on the weeks when client stories run dry.

Behind the scenes of the work

Show a redacted slide from a client strategy. Walk through how you’d audit a sales call. Film yourself whiteboarding a pricing problem. Prospects can’t picture what working with you is like, and these posts let them picture it. A consultant who shows the framework tends to get hired to apply it, since the people who can afford you rarely want to do it themselves.

Where to post

Go where your clients scroll. Business coaches and B2B consultants belong on LinkedIn first, X second. Life, fitness and wellness coaches do better on Instagram and TikTok, where faces and transformations travel fast. Career coaches can win on both LinkedIn and TikTok, which is a surprisingly good combination.

Pick one main platform and one secondary. Post on the main one daily, or close to it. Repurpose the best posts to the secondary one. A results post that works on LinkedIn usually works on Instagram as a carousel and on TikTok as a 40-second talking-head video.

Consistency is where coaches lose

Here’s the honest problem. Coaches and consultants are busy delivering the work, and marketing gets done in the gaps. A great week with three client calls means zero posts. Then a slow month hits and they panic-post every day. The algorithm punishes exactly that pattern, and so do prospects, who notice when a feed goes quiet.

The fix is batching. Block two hours once a week. Collect the wins from your client work: screenshots, messages, numbers, the lesson from Tuesday’s session. Turn them into a week of posts. Then schedule all of them so they go out on time whether you’re on calls all day or not.

This is what I built SchedPilot for. Connect LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok and the rest once, and schedule the whole week from one calendar. Carousels, images and videos all go out natively. You can post a client result to LinkedIn on Tuesday morning, the carousel version to Instagram on Wednesday, and the video to TikTok on Thursday, all set up in the same sitting.

If writing is your bottleneck, use AI for the drafting and keep the substance yours. Paste your client notes and your best past posts into Claude and ask it to write results posts in your voice. With SchedPilot’s MCP connector, you can then tell Claude to schedule them across your accounts without leaving the chat. I walk through the exact prompt and workflow in my social media automation tutorial. The AI can shape the words. Only you have the results, and that’s the part that sells.

A weekly content mix that works

Five posts a week is plenty for most coaches and consultants. A balance I like:

  • Two client results posts with numbers and the story behind them
  • One testimonial in the client’s own words, as a screenshot or short video
  • One behind-the-scenes post showing how you actually work
  • One opinion post that takes a clear stance on something in your industry

The opinion post matters more than it looks. Results build trust, and opinions build recognition. People hire the consultant whose take they’ve been nodding along to for three months.

Don’t skip SEO and GEO

Social media gets you seen. Search catches people the moment they’re actively looking for help, which makes them some of the warmest leads you’ll ever get.

Every strong client result deserves its own case study page on your website. Something like “How a 12-person agency raised prices 40% without losing clients” can rank on Google for years, and it gives AI assistants something concrete to cite when someone asks ChatGPT to recommend a pricing consultant for agencies. Add service pages for each specific problem you solve and each audience you serve (“sales coaching for SaaS founders,” “leadership coaching for new managers”). Specific pages beat a single “Services” page every time.

Reviews matter here too. Collect them on Google Business Profile, LinkedIn recommendations and any directory in your niche. AI assistants lean on what other people say about you, and so do prospects.

The nice part is that it’s all the same material. One client win becomes a LinkedIn post, an Instagram carousel, a TikTok video and a case study page. One afternoon of writing, four places it keeps working.

If you want help turning your client results into an SEO and GEO system, that’s what my agency does. Email me at andreisaioc@gmail.com or find me on X at @asaio87. And if you want to start posting those results consistently this week, SchedPilot has a 7-day free trial.

Your prospects already believe coaching works. What they’re still deciding is whether yours does.
