Best Time to Post on Instagram in the Philippines (2026)

The best time to post on Instagram in the Philippines is Wednesday at 12 pm or 6 pm PHT and Thursday at 9 am PHT. Day-by-day times plus slots that also reach Filipinos abroad.

The best time to post on Instagram in the Philippines is Wednesday at 12 pm or 6 pm PHT, and Thursday at 9 am PHT. On other weekdays, post between 6 pm and 9 pm. Friday and Saturday get the lowest engagement, and anything between 1 am and 5 am is wasted.

Day Best time (PHT) Backup slot Strength
Monday 7 pm 8 pm Moderate
Tuesday 7 pm 3 pm to 5 pm High
Wednesday 12 pm 6 pm Best day
Thursday 9 am 12 pm to 2 pm Very high
Friday 9 pm to 10 pm 6 am Weak
Saturday 9 pm 10 pm Weak
Sunday 9 pm 8 pm Moderate

The whole country is on Philippine Time (UTC+8) with no daylight saving, so these hours are the same in Manila, Cebu and Davao, every month of the year. If you plan a few weeks ahead, one of these content calendar tools will keep your posts lined up with these slots.

Wondering how you can schedule all your instagram posts for the right times and right days of the calendar ? No problem, check our article about the best social media schedulers out there.

A good time of the day and of the week, is a must when it comes to social media strategy, especially if you want to have the most amount of views possible.

Where the numbers come from

There’s no big Philippines-only timing study that I trust, so I’m using the three largest global ones, all reported in the follower’s local time. Buffer looked at 9.6 million Instagram posts and found Wednesday to be the best day, evenings from 6 pm to 11 pm to be the best hours, and Thursday morning to be the exception. Sprout Social (nearly 2 billion engagements) has Tuesday 1 pm to 7 pm and Wednesday 12 pm to 9 pm on top. Hootsuite, with a million-plus posts localised across 118 countries, points to Monday and Tuesday from 3 pm.

Why Philippine guides give you different answers

Search this topic and the local advice splits in two. Spiralytics, a Manila agency, says Instagram does best from midmorning to noon and singles out Wednesday. Truelogic maps the day into parts and gives 5 pm to 9 pm to at-home browsing and video. TimeToPost’s hourly page ranks 9 pm, 10 pm and 8 pm on top.

They can all be right, and that is the useful part. When an audience checks the app from the first jeepney ride to the last hour before bed, there are several good windows and no single winner. The table below is how I’d sort a weekday.

Time (PHT) What’s happening Post?
1 am to 5 am Asleep, unless your followers work nights No, with one exception below
6 am to 8:30 am Commute into Metro Manila Yes, quick content
12 pm to 1 pm Lunch Yes. Wednesday’s best slot
3 pm Merienda Good for food accounts
5:30 pm to 8 pm The ride home, which can take two hours Yes
8 pm to 10 pm After dinner Yes. Best for Reels

The exception to the overnight rule is the BPO workforce. More than a million Filipinos work night shifts timed to US business hours, and their breaks fall between midnight and 4 am. If your followers are call-centre staff in Ortigas, BGC or Cebu IT Park, a 1 am post is their lunchtime post. Check the active-times chart before you rule the night out.

What’s different about a Filipino audience

Filipinos have sat at or near the top of global rankings for time spent on social media for years. That changes how forgiving the schedule is. In a country where people check Instagram many times a day, a post at a second-best hour still gets seen. I’d worry less about hitting 7 pm on the dot and more about showing up three to five times a week.

Metro Manila commutes are long, and a lot of scrolling happens on the jeepney, bus or MRT between 6 am and 8:30 am and again from 5:30 pm. That supports the Thursday 9 am slot and suggests testing 7 am to 8 am on other weekdays too, especially for news, food and motivational content that suits a quick look.

Evenings run late. The global data says 6 pm to 11 pm, and for the Philippines I’d lean toward 8 pm to 10 pm for Reels, after dinner and after the traffic. Sunday is family and church for many people during the day, so hold Sunday posts for 8 pm onward.

Watch the sale dates. The 9.9, 10.10, 11.11 and 12.12 sales and the 15th and 30th paydays shift attention toward shopping content. If you sell products, a post the evening before payday has done its work by the time money lands.

December has its own clock. During Simbang Gabi, from the 16th to the 24th, a large part of the country is up for dawn Mass at 4 or 5 am, and early-morning activity jumps for those nine days. A 5:30 am post that would be pointless in October is worth trying then.

Reaching Filipinos overseas with the same post

Millions of Filipinos work abroad, and many pages have a follower base split between home, the Gulf and North America. One slot covers a surprising amount of it. A post at 9 pm PHT lands at 5 pm in Dubai, 4 pm in Riyadh and 9 am in New York (8 am in winter). You get the evening peak at home, the end of the working day in the Gulf and the morning scroll on the US East Coast. The US West Coast is the one group it misses, since it’s 6 am there.

Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia share the same clock as the Philippines, so no conversion is needed for followers there. I’ve written separate notes for Singapore and Hong Kong if those matter to you.

Confirm it with your own Insights

Switch to a professional account if you haven’t, open the dashboard, tap your followers figure and find the active-times chart. Post 30 to 60 minutes before the peak you see there, which is the advice Instagram’s Adam Mosseri gives. After a month, compare reach by hour in an analytics tool, and let a social media scheduler handle the 9 pm posts so you can have dinner in peace.

Quick answers

What is the best day to post on Instagram in the Philippines?

Wednesday. Thursday morning is second. Saturday is the weakest, because people are out at the mall and off their feeds.

Is morning or evening better in the Philippines?

Evening for video, morning for anything that can be read in five seconds on a crowded bus. If you only post once a day, pick 7 pm to 9 pm.

Should I post at the same time on Facebook and Instagram?

You can. Facebook has the bigger audience in the Philippines and its busy hours overlap with Instagram’s evening window, so cross-posting at 8 pm is a reasonable start. Split the schedule later if your Insights for the two pages drift apart.
